I know I haven't blogged in a while, but I thought I'd tell you about NETC 2008. It's a conference for technology professionals who work in Extension.
What's Extension?
Good question. Each state in the U.S. has one university that has the mission of community outreach - they're called landgrant universities. The University of Florida is one such institution. So, on top of education and research, UF also has outreach programs directed at Floridians. Information on food safety, water conservation, gardening - a lot of stuff.
Why are you there?
I'm sort of a technology professional - I mean, I'm a web coordinator, and that's sort of techie. Techie enough anyway. Whoops - I've just been told my free internet is going away - see you next week!
